Well I’ve got to hand it to Apple, once again they’ve delivered ‘sexy’ right to you in the form of an update. This one of course being the daddy of all updates because, finally, the hypothetical [and quite literal] umbilical cord has been cut! No more having to plug your phone/pad in every time you need to install an update, or backup your pictures, phone numbers, apps and the like. This all being said, I have a couple of items I’d strongly suggest Apple address in the IOS 5.0.1 update:
Add custom address to Reminders

It can be assign based on arrival or departure
I am loving the new reminders feature. I live out of my calendar, so having the reminders app to compliment it is great. What really makes it a key tool is that you can not just set your reminder to go off at a specific time, but a specific location! The catch is, you already have to be at that location to set it…. Now I’ve seen the example advertised, ‘remind yourself you need to buy milk, and your device can notify you when you pass the grocery store’. Not entirely true…. You’d actually have to be at the grocery store to determine it’s location.. and instead of messing with your iDevice, why not just buy the milk…
This tool would be so much more useful if it was integrated with Maps, so you could search for a place, or location. It would be sweet too if you could just enter an address, then Maps verified it.
Notifications Center
I actually think this is my favorite new feature, at least this week. One quick swipe down and I have an overview of everything I want to know. I’m a habitual email-checker and having the opportunity to take a quick glance without actually entering Mail is fantastic. In addition to constantly checking my email, I tend to open an email that I don’t have the intentions of reading through at that moment, so I reset it back to Unread. In doing this I can highlight emails that I feel are worth going back to. The trouble with the Notification Center is that even after marking an email back to Unread, it’s not considered a new email. If my Notification Center is supposed to tell me what unread messaged I have, I think it should anything truly new, plus any you’ve set back to Unread.

One small thing, but worth mentioning, deleting of single photos in Photostream would be good. I know I’m prone to the occasional blurry picture, or unnecessary duplicates. Who wants all that showing up on your screensaver (should you assign it to be your photostream).
So other than that, and that Apple took away gestures for iPad (1) users, the iOS 5 update is pretty much awesome. However, we all know Apple can do better… come on 5.0.1!
What are your thoughts on the new update?
